Our Westalpenüberquerung leads you with your MTB, E-Bike, Enduro, or bike of choice through the most beautiful Alpine trails in Italy, Switzerland, and Austria. The starting point is Livigno (I), after to Nauders (A)to Scuol and St. Maria (CH) and finally back to Livigno. Including top-notch bike hotels and luggage transport. The adventure of crossing the Western Alps awaits you!

Equipment
In addition to your well-maintained bike of choice, we also recommend bringing a helmet, gloves, knee pads, and a back protector. While your luggage will be transported from accommodation to accommodation, it is advisable to have a daypack for your water bottle, bars/snacks, spare parts, and tools.

The recommended starting point for your crossing of the Western Alps is Livigno Livigno is undoubtedly considered the liveliest and most cheerful town among the four stages of your bike tour. If you wish to enjoy the tour a few days before or after the stages, this decision will suit you. Alternatively, you can also start from one of the four stages, be it in Nauders, Scuol, or St. Maria Mustair.
Livigno, a picturesque mountain village in the Italian Alps, entices with a charming pedestrian zone and diverse opportunities for outdoor activities. The duty-free shopping paradise offers budget-friendly items, while the impressive natural scenery attracts visitors year-round.
Scuol (German: Schuls) is a municipality in Engiadina Bassa/Val Müstair, Graubünden. Originally named Schuls, then Scuol/Schuls (1943–1970), it has been called Scuol since 1970. The name is derived from the Latin word "scopulus" (cliff), referring to the location of the San Geer church. Scuol, the Bath Queen of the Alps, is a water oasis along the Inn River and numerous village fountains.
Nauders, located in the district of Landeck, Tyrol, Austria, at an elevation of 1394 meters above sea level, impresses with a captivating natural backdrop, ideal conditions for winter sports, and a variety of outdoor activities. Historical landmarks and warm hospitality define the charming character of Nauders as a travel destination.
The picturesque Val Müstair in Switzerland is a high valley with historical charm. From Santa Maria, the Umbrail Pass leads into the Valtellina. The Rambach River (Rom in Romansh) flows through the valley.
Travel options
The self-arrival for your bike tour can be done by car or train. The exact arrival details and train information are available at RETTER Sports.
Car
Train to Zernez, then 45 minutes to Livigno by bus
Program
The Three Countries Tour offers two different options. You can choose between the challenging or the easier version.
ROUTE A
The A version is more challenging and recommended for bikers with good fitness. You don't need to be a Superman or Supergirl, but the elevation and distance data speak for themselves: 6743 meters of elevation gain and 198 km in 4 days. You can decide daily whether you prefer the challenging or easier stage since the starting and ending points remain the same.
ROUTE B
Tour B is the easier version of the Three Countries Tour. "Easy" doesn't mean "simple," but it is more accessible than the A version. You have to cover 168 km and climb 5250 meters in 4 days. Weather conditions also play a role; the tour differs in sunny weather compared to rain or cold wind. If you need advice on effort and challenges, feel free to give us a call.

Get ready for a top-notch bike tour – during the Western Alps Crossing, you'll experience the most beautiful trails in three countries. P.S. Since the tour is self-guided, you set your own pace and decide how often to stop at the beautiful mountain huts. The tour is also excellent for a trail running experience!
