Program
Look forward to 13 days full of adventure, surfing and culture on your Bali surf trip. Together with a local guide who will accompany you through the adventure, you will explore the most beautiful spots on the island and immerse yourself not only in the best waves, but also in the life of the locals. This is what your program may look like (although it may change slightly depending on the weather).
Day 1
Welcome to Denpasar Airport, Bali!
Your driver will greet you at Ngurah Rai International Airport and take you to your hotel, where you can relax.
Day 2
Canggu surf spot: Good morning in one of Bali's most famous surf spots: Canggu. After breakfast, your surf guide will greet you and then it's off into the water! The course lasts around 2 hours and afterwards you will receive valuable tips and a video analysis so that you can improve for the upcoming surf sessions. Berawa beach is a long, black sand beach that ends in a large lagoon at the southern end. It's only a stone's throw from the beach to the line-up, making it ideal for beginners. For lunch, you can choose one of the many restaurants around Berawa beach. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3
Breakfast at the hotel. Followed by another surf session. Afterwards, you'll have plenty of free time to chill out on the beach or explore the surrounding area. In the evening, we will have dinner together again at the hotel.
Day 4
After breakfast, we meet the surf guide at the hotel and start a surf session. Depending on the wave conditions, we may head to another beach such as Batu Bolong. Batu Bolong is a wide, 1.5 km long black sand beach and is located at the end of one of the coolest streets in Canggu. After class, you can browse in one of the second-hand and vintage stores or have lunch in one of the trendy restaurants. Echo Beach, another black sand beach, is known for its surf spots and stunning sunsets. Some of you might be ready to switch to a hardboard today. The transition requires some practice as the paddling becomes more challenging. Afterwards, you'll have free time to relax on the beach before heading back to the hotel for dinner.
Day 5
Breakfast at the accommodation. We then drive to the cultural center of Bali: Ubud. Discover the famous Tanah Lot temple, perched on a rock in the sea. It is one of the seven sea temples on the Balinese coast. Visit the majestic Taman Ayun Temple, which was built in 1634 by a ruler of the Mengwi Kingdom. Enjoy a walk through the temple complex with its traditional architecture, garden landscapes and courtyards.
Day 6
After breakfast, a special tour is on the program: discover the highlights around Ubud in a Volkswagen convertible. We stop at various places to explore temples, waterfalls and other sights.
Stops: Gianyar Markt, Tibumana Wasserfall, Gunung Kawi, Tirta Empul, Tegalalang, Monkey Forest *Additional entrance fees may apply for certain stops.
Day 7
Breakfast at the hotel. Immerse yourself in Balinese culture and traditions. Start the day by making sarongs, which reflect historical and religious traditions in Bali. Then explore the rice fields and plantations to understand the daily life of the farmers and the organization of the Subak system. Learn how to make flour by hand and discover three Balinese recipes cooked over an open fire to experience the flavor of your vacation. Learn about offerings and ceremonial cakes, observe the talent of the locals in weaving palm leaves. Participate in the Lontar workshop where dried palm leaves are transformed into rectangular pages engraved with Balinese texts, manuscripts in Sanskrit about mantras, rituals, astrology, etc. Discover the Balinese script called Aksara Bali and try to write on the pages. A nice souvenir to take home. Finally, prepare your "Jamu", a traditional herbal drink with health benefits, and your own tiger balm. Enjoy lunch on site and visit the beautiful Suwat waterfall, one of the most beautiful in Bali. Follow the short, sometimes steep path to this paradisiacal place. A perfect spot for Robinson Crusoe Instagram pictures. Take a canoe ride and swim in the cool water - an eventful day!
Day 8
After breakfast, your driver will take you to the south of Bali, also known as "Bukit".
On the Bukit Peninsula in the south of Bali, you have the opportunity to visit the famous Jimbaran fish market. Choose your favorite seafood dish at the market, be it tuna, trevallies, squid or king prawns, and have it grilled in a small restaurant by the sea, served with rice and vegetables.
Dinner and overnight stay at Puri Pandawa Resort in a deluxe room.
Day 9
Back to Surfing!
Uluwatu is the crown jewel of surfing in Bali. You will meet up with your surf guide and head to the beach. Depending on the waves, you will go to one of the beaches: Balangan - a white sand beach with restaurants and a beautiful panoramic view of the Indian Ocean; Bingin - a beautiful white sand strip at the base of the Bingin cliffs surrounded by many surfer cafes, beach huts and restaurants that will remind you of Greece; Dreamland - the name says it all, a beautiful white sand beach with turquoise waters. Most would argue that it is the best beach in Bali.
After another 2 hours of lessons, the video analysis follows. You can go back into the water with your surf guide if you wish. Followed by lunch in Uluwatu.
Day 10
After breakfast, it's back into the water - today's program includes a full day on the board. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 11
Breakfast at the hotel - then we'll go surfing again today! 😉
After the surf sessions, you will of course also have enough time to relax or explore the area. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 12
Breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards, a surf session is on the program for all those who wish.
The trip concludes with the breathtaking Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple, where we will watch the sunset. Perched on the cliffs, you can walk around and take in the landscape and surroundings. Keep in mind that the monkeys here are the masters of the place!
At sunset, visit the Kecak show, pronounced "Ketchak", a Balinese dance accompanied by the famous song "Chak-a-chak-a-chak". This traditional dance is one of the most impressive in Bali. *The visit to the Uluwatu temple is included in the price.
Use this last evening for a dinner together on Jimbaran beach, by candlelight and accompanied by the sound of the sea.
Day 13
Breakfast at the hotel.
Today your private driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Denpasar Airport. Departure.
