Of course, before the adventure begins, we will have a rich breakfast buffet every day - a generous selection of sweet and savory specialties awaits you at the hotel for a good start to the day. We will also enjoy 4 dinners at the hotel. The other evenings are at your free disposal and you can taste your way through the surrounding bars and restaurants.
Equipment
For our tours you don't need any special equipment except good shoes. As a rule, we will make individual treks of 2-4 hours, whereby a moderate basic condition is sufficient. However, a rain protection in the backpack should not be missing.

The Azores, an autonomous region within Portugal, consists of a group of islands in the Atlantic Ocean. Characteristic of these islands are their impressive nature, the picturesque fishing villages and the lush green pastures and hydrangea hedges that characterize the landscape.
Interesting spots/trails
São Miguel is the largest island of the Azores and has some attractions to offer. Colloquially, the island is also called "the green island" and São Miguel lives up to this name.

Program
The Azores are known for their impressive nature and diverse flora, which includes tea plantations, hot springs, waterfalls and crater lakes. During our walks together we will have the opportunity to explore and admire these special places in all their splendor. Here you can find an overview of the planned program - of course this can change a bit depending on the weather conditions.
Day 1
Departure from Vienna via Lisbon to São Miguel.
Day 2
After breakfast, we set out on our first hike to immerse ourselves in the exciting flora of the green island. A great circular hike from Faial da Terra to the waterfall awaits us. After the hike we will visit the downtown of Povoação - also known as the very first settlement of the island.
Day 3
Today we visit an absolute highlight of Sao Miguel: The Sete Cidades is a breathtaking volcanic crater landscape in the west of the Azores island São Miguel with embedded lakes. Afterwards we take a nice tour there and relax at the lake in the afternoon - if you want, you have the possibility to go canoeing on the lake. Before returning to the hotel, we will visit the famous pineapple plantation on São Miguel.
Day 4
After breakfast it's time to pack bathing suits and hiking clothes. The first program point of the day is the impressive tea plantations, which we will discover during a hike. Afterwards we will visit a typical restaurant to eat the famous dish "Cozido das Caldeiras". After lunch we will visit the Terra Nostra Park with its natural hot springs.
Day 5
The day is free for you today. Take a short city tour, relax on the beach or unwind in the spa area. If you like, you can also go whale watching today - we will gladly organize a tour for you.
Day 6
Today we have a really exciting adventure ahead of us: we are going canyoning! After breakfast we will all go together to the Ribeira dos Caldeirões Nature Park in the northeast of the island. This park is one of the best places for this exciting mountain adventure because of its volcanic geology. Canyoning is about descending along watercourses in an adventurous way, experiencing an intense contact with the nature of the island.
Day 7
After breakfast we set out for our last hike of the week. The destination is Vila Franca do Campo - a small impressive island. There we will taste local cheese and wine. Afterwards we will have the opportunity to relax in the hot springs.
Day 8
Departure - return flight to Vienna
