Location
Egypt is located in the northeast of Africa. El Gouna is located about 22 kilometers north of Hurghada directly on the Red Sea and has an area of 9 km². The southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula is about 80 km away in a north-northeasterly direction. From Austria/Germany you fly only about 4 h. The turquoise water and the summer temperatures invite you all year round to surf, enjoy and have fun.

El Gouna offers for kiters shallow water, constant wind and sun, sun and more sun! The temperatures are pleasantly warm all year round. From December to March we recommend a long wetsuit, the rest of the year a shorty will do. In summer it is hot and the air is dry ... but the northwest wind acts as a natural air conditioner.

Sights
If you want to see Egypt properly, you can book some tours and day trips at the hotel. Very worth seeing is the Valley of the Kings in Luxur (about 3-4 hours drive). If you have more time, book a Nile cruise, you will be amazed. The over 4,000 year old pyramids of Giza can be combined with a short city trip in Cairo.

In El Gouna you can of course try typical local dishes. But there are also numerous dishes from the Italian and Asian cuisine, as well as delicious dishes with fish and seafood.

Customs and rules
Since the base salary is very low, it is common to tip between 10 - 20 %. During the meal it is not appreciated to blow your nose. If possible, use the right hand. The left hand is considered unclean.

- Unfortunately, there are still big differences between the sexes. Women should cover their shoulders and wear knee-length clothing in public (outside the resort).
- Nudist bathing can lead to fines or imprisonment
