Accommodation
& Catering

For your surf holiday, we’ll arrange a cozy accommodation close to the surf center—like the Glaros Apartments, just about a 7-minute walk from the beach. The studios and apartments are simple yet charming, featuring a private terrace, kitchen, sea views, and everything you need to relax after surfing.

Depending on your preferences and availability, we’re also happy to book other nearby accommodations around Paleakastro for you, such as Kastri Village, Grandes Apartments, the modern Kouremenos Villas, Dretakis Villas, or Hiona Holiday and Marina Village. All options are just minutes from the surf center, offering the perfect blend of comfort, tranquility, and proximity to the spot.

Catering

You can either prepare your own meals—most apartments have a small kitchen—or enjoy traditional Greek cuisine at one of the many tavernas nearby.

Equipment

Right on Kouremenos Beach—just 15 meters from the water—you’ll find the surf center Gone Surfing. With over ten years of experience, top equipment from Fanatic & Duotone, and a friendly team, the center offers everything you need to start or progress in windsurfing and wingfoiling. The team is especially proud of their wingfoil expertise: since 2019, they’ve been among the pioneers in Europe. Whether it’s your first uphaul or your first jump, you’ll receive personal guidance and become part of a community that truly lives water sports.

Destination
& Arrival

Crete, Greece’s largest island, is an excellent destination for adventure and sports travel. The island offers a wide range of activities that appeal to recreational athletes, alongside a rich cultural experience.

Interesting spots/trails

The best way to get there is via Heraklion Airport (HER). From there, it’s about a 3.5 to 4-hour drive to Palekastro. Since there are no public transfers to this region, renting a car is the best option—and also perfect for exploring the island’s most beautiful spots at your own pace. We’re happy to arrange the right vehicle for you in advance, so you can start your surf holiday stress-free.

Insider tips

Supermarkets & Taverns: In the town of Palekastro, you’ll find small markets, bakeries, and cozy taverns serving traditional Cretan cuisine—all easily accessible by car or bike.

Payment: Most places accept card payments, but we still recommend carrying some cash, especially for smaller shops.

Program

In Crete, you shape your day however you like. Start early with a morning surf session, enjoy a relaxed breakfast afterward, and then decide whether to hit the water again or simply relax on the beach.

Around the surf center, you’ll find cozy taverns for a quick bite, or you can use your rental car to explore the area. Numerous beaches, villages, and attractions—like the archaeological site of Knossos (about 2.5 hours away)—are waiting for you.

Whether surfing, relaxing, or exploring: here, you set your own pace—every day anew
