Destination
& Arrival
The Azores, an autonomous region within Portugal, consists of a group of islands in the Atlantic Ocean. Characteristic of these islands are their impressive nature, the picturesque fishing villages and the lush green pastures and hydrangea hedges that characterize the landscape.
Interesting spots/trails
Even beyond surfing, São Miguel has a lot to offer. It’s definitely worth exploring the island more closely. From breathtaking crater lakes and hot springs to tropical pineapple plantations, the largest island in the Azores offers an impressive variety of nature and culture. Anyone staying at the surf camp in the Azores will find not only perfect waves around São Miguel but also plenty of unforgettable day trips.
One of the most beautiful lakes in the Azores, nestled in an untouched natural landscape. Ideal for peaceful hikes and spectacular panoramas – often shrouded in mystical mist.
A nature park with waterfalls, old mills, and lush vegetation in the northeast of the island. Perfect for a picnic or a short hike in the greenery.
In Ponta Delgada, you can visit one of the few pineapple plantations in Europe. The fruits are traditionally grown in greenhouses here and take several months to ripen. You can see the entire cultivation process—from seedling to fruit—and sample fresh pineapple products like liqueur, jam, or juice in the small shop. A fascinating and delicious insight into local agriculture.
A location full of geothermal activity: hot springs, steaming fumaroles, and traditional Cozido stews cooked in the hot ground. Pure relaxation at Terra Nostra Park or the Poça da Dona Beija thermal baths.
Two spectacularly colored crater lakes (blue and green) inside a huge volcanic crater. Perfect for hiking, viewpoints like Miradouro da Boca do Inferno, and breathtaking drone shots.

Travel to the Azores is usually by plane, often with a stopover in Lisbon. We’re happy to book your flights for you — just let us know your preferred departure airport.
