Anyone who has ever had a Ski tour can confirm that this sport is a very special one. extraordinary perspective on the mountains offers.
There are far Mountain landscapes, pristine slopes off the beaten track and no annoying waiting times at the lifts. So it's no wonder that ski touring has become increasingly popular in recent years.
Many factors play a role in a ski tour to make it not only beautiful, but also safe. This can be overwhelming especially for beginners. For this reason we organize a ski touring weekend for beginners to learn all the basic aspects of winter sports.
We will three days spend in open terrain, focusing on energy-saving and efficient ascent technique, correct tracking and safe movement in alpine terrain. In total we will enjoy 2 day and one half day ski tour.

With first-class ski areas, an impressive mountain landscape and beautiful panoramas, it offers optimal conditions for skiers, snowboarders and ski tourers of all levels. In addition, the region attracts with cozy huts, warm hospitality and a variety of leisure activities off the slopes.
Insider tips
Even though this ski touring camp is expressly aimed at beginners to this sport, the camp does not replace a ski course, which means that you must at least be able to safely master more difficult alpine slopes and in any case master stem turns in deep snow.
In addition, you need sufficient basic fitness for the ascents of the guided ski tour. These range depending on the walking speed of the group between 4 and 5 hours (800 - 1,000 meters altitude). The enjoyment descents in the open terrain are moderate.
Program
Look forward to a long weekend with lots of mountain and snow. At our Ski touring camp you will learn all the basics about this trendy sport. Together with the certified hiking guide Martin weber you will explore the most beautiful routes around Zell am See on guided ski tours. Here is a brief overview of the program - this can be changed depending on the weather.
Day 1:
Arrival at the Hotel Quehenberger and subsequent getting to know the group - in the evening we will enjoy a dinner together discuss the coming days and routes.
Day 2:
This ski tour takes us to a beautiful panoramic mountain, the Vulture Mountain. Simple and open terrain dominates. From the summit you have a beautiful view to the nearby Schmittenhöhe and the Kitzbühler Alps. Our stop for refreshments is at the Hecherhütte (900 meters above sea level).
Day 3:
A beautiful solitary ski tour through the forest and on an easy ridge to the summit of the Langecks (1,000 meters in altitude).
Day 4:
We take the cable car from Viehhofen to the Schmittenhöhe. This is followed by the leisurely ski hike on the Pinzgau walk to the Maurerkogel (500 meters of altitude).
