General info
In the vineyards of the Wachau not only ripen the precious grapes for the noble drops in the wine bottle, they the mountains and hills are also perfect for biking. Especially in autumn it is usually dry in the Wachau and on the way the warm sun still shines on your back. The golden autumn takes on a new meaning here.
In addition to culinary delights, it's also the trails that bring a glow to mountain bikers' eyes. On the north side of the Danube we explore classic all-mountain tours, around the Göttweig Abbey there's pure enduro action. Again and again we catch beautiful views of the Danube. The trail conditions range from rugged to earthy forest floor.
The best thing about the trails, however, is that almost every single one ends at a - for the region known - Heurigen. There we then indulge in the pleasures of the palate.
